Football, Passion and Identity

Alejandro Apo was the first guest-speaker of a series of conferences, and inaugurated the Football Corner at the library. Within the framework of the project “Football, Passion and Identity”, carried out by the teachers Juan Pablo Todaro and Martín Legizamón from the Social Sciences area, the well-known sports journalist Alejandro Apo was invited by ORT Belgrano campus to initiate the series of conferences.

Alejandro Apo developed his idea of football as a vehicle of ideas and identity. He also answered very enthusiastically the questions that students made in relation to his profession, the current violence in football, and the crisis that some national clubs are undergoing. Apart from that, he narrated a story on football, and inaugurated the Football Corner at the Belgrano library and the blog of the project. Sporting Activities for 2nd year – Almagro Campus

The students’ coordinators and counselors organized sporting and recreational activities for all the 2nd-year students at the Sports Club. The aim was to promote the integration of the students, especially of those who have just started at the school.

On the other hand, a group of coaches and first-rate volleyball players (who compete at national level) visited the school, and shared games and recreational activities with 2nd-year students. This activity, just like the football school project coordinated by Pedro Larraqui, has an important cultural and educational value, both for teachers and students.

Those who participated in this experience felt motivated by the comments and indications they received from these top-level sportsmen and coaches, and they also felt happy for the time they spent together.
