E-Marketing

On July 23rd, there will be a lecture on “E-Marketing” for 6th-year students from the ICT and Business Administration tracks at ORT Belgrano campus.

The conference will focus on the possibilities the web offers for the creation of new business and marketing online, and it will also analyze how the future of advertising will change.

Nicolás Berman (ORT graduate) and Daniel Rabinovich (MercadoLibre.com CTO) will be in charge of the conference.

Talking with Scriptwriters– Mass Media Track

On October 22nd, 3 young TV scriptwriters visited ORT School (Belgrano campus) to give a conference for 5th-year students from the Mass Media track. Laura Farhi, Bruno Luciani and Alejandro Quesada worked for many TV programs, and were part of the script team of “El tiempo no para” (Channel 9, 2006). They talked about their everyday writing activity, the peculiarities of the TV script, and the present and future of fiction. The activity was carried out at the school TV Studio within the framework of the ‘Script’ subject.

Media Colleges Visit ORT Mass Media Track

On September 25th, people from UBA Communication Sciences visited us. Prof. Glenn Postolski gave a conference to 5th and 6th-year students from ORT Mass Media track. He explained that the course curriculum consists of 24 common subjects and 5 tracks, which are: Journalism, Public Opinion and Advertising, Communication and Educational Processes, Policies and Planning of Communication, and Community Communication. The Communication Sciences course trains people to become professionals in a field of great social significance: the territory where mass media, communication and culture merge. At the end of the activity, the lecturer answered the questions and doubts of the students.

Mass Media Colleges Visit ORT Mass Media Track

On September 20th, the FUC (University of the Cinema) visited ORT Belgrano campus. Prof. Luis Facelli (from FUC’s Cinema Direction course), gave a conference for 5th and 6th-year students from the Mass Media track. He contrasted the ways in which production was carried out in the times of mute cinema and today, by making emphasis on short and feature films productions. The new technologies have substantially modified the cinema production and have also incorporated new ways of expression and realization.

Mass Media Colleges Visit ORT Mass Media Track


On September 10th, ETER (College of Radio Broadcasting Studies) visited ORT Belgrano campus. Darío Szmulewicz, Radio Coordinator at ETER, gave a conference on Radio Production and the Producer’s Task for 6th-year students from the Mass Media track. At the end, he answered all the questions that students raised about the topic.

The Youth Club of the City Visits Our School

Participants of the Editorial Training Workshop of the Youth Club of the City of Buenos Aires visited the exhibition "Photos of a City" mounted at ORT Belgrano Campus Hall. The students from the Mass Media track showed their woks, and were guided by the teachers Sebastián Izquierdo and Virginia Ocariz. The young visitors, aged from 14 to 24 years, were extremely interested in learning more about photography. Ethical and esthetic problems of the journalistic photography were discussed, since they were relevant for their training.

Mass Media Colleges visit ORT Mass Media Track


TEA
On August 15th, Guillermo Kaufman (Principal of TEA Image), Martín Zaballa (Principal of TEA Radio), and Prof. Miguel Iglesias (TEA Journalism and TEA Sports) visited ORT Belgrano campus. Students from 6th year of the Mass Media track participated in the activity and received information on the training TEA provides regarding graphic design, TV, and radio production, so that they can have access to the labor market at present.

Argentine Association of Advertising Agencies
On August 16th, the Argentine Association of Advertising Agencies (AAAP) visited ORT (Belgrano campus), and gave a conference on Advertising and on how to be an advertising agent in certain areas, such as: Art Director, Advertising Editor, Media Planner, and Account Executive. The speaker was Nancy Leotta, who is the Studies Director of the Institute. She provided a comprehensive background of their educational proposal and clarified all the doubts that our 5th and 6th-year students from the Mass Media track had.

Mass Media Track


Within the framework of the Vocational Guidance Program offered by the School, we have invited different colleges and universities specialized in Mass Media. During the talks, the students will get information on the courses of study they can take in the future and have direct contact with their principals and teachers. We thank the collaboration of: TEA (Image, Sound, Journalism, Sports Journalism), AAAP (Argentine Association of Advertising Agencies), ETER Communication School (Radio, Journalism, Sports Journalism), FUC (University of Cinema), CYEVIC (Center of Research and Experimentation on Video and Film), IUNA (University Institute of Arts), UBA (Communication Sciences), UBA (Image and Sound), ORT Institute of Technology (Design tracks), San Andrés University (Communication).

Special Effects Workshop for the Mass Media Track

On August 10th, Metamorfosis FX -the academy of special effects- visited ORT Belgrano campus. At the workshop, which was organized for 5th-year students, different topics related to the exciting field of the Media were discussed:

* Digital Effects: operation of state-of-the-art programs.
* Dolls in movement: use of methods and specific materials.
* Animatronics: use of electronic and mechanical techniques.

The speakers showed different examples of make-up techniques live by using 3 students as models.

We congratulate Jorge Chikiar, teacher from Mass Media track, for winning the Prodanza award for the play "Voraz". The award was granted by the Government of the City of Buenos Aires.

Congratulations, Pablo Bursztyn!


Pablo Bursztyn, 6th-year student from the Mass Media track -Belgrano campus-, will be playing during the presentation of the CD ‘Leave me and Cry’ (Aqua Records) by Maxi Trusso, support artist for the Rolling Stones and Cher among others.


Pablo will play with Alejandro Teran (Charly García’s violinist), Ciro Fogliatta (from ‘Los Gatos’) and Jorge Chikiar (Mass Media teacher), who will be in the keyboard and the Rhodes piano. The presentation will be on August 7th at 9pm at the Cultural Center Rojas.
