Talking with Tatiana Sfiligoy
The Coordination Department of 3rd year has been carrying out different activities to commemorate the National Day of Memory for Truth and Justice. Among them, a meeting with Tatiana Sfiligoy -the first granddaughter found by Abuelas (“Grandmothers”) de Plaza de Mayo- was organized for Belgrano 3rd-year students. Tatiana told her story and answered the students’ questions.

Opening Ceremony 2008
Today morning, the Opening Ceremony of the 2008 school year was carried out at each campus, during which the outstanding students of the year 2007 were awarded, ORT Virtual Campus was introduced, and the attendants were informed of a joint initiative with the Asociación Argentina de Cultura Inglesa, among other projects scheduled for this year.
At Belgrano campus, the Educational Robotics Laboratory and the Multipurpose Laboratory were inaugurated; while in Almagro, the architect Darío Jaraj -General Secretary of ORT Argentina Board of Directors- talked about the acquisition of a new, adjacent land site, located in Yatay and Bartolomé Mitre.
"Today we can see the emotion in the faces of parents, and also the enthusiasm and curiosity your eyes show. This is your first day at a school which has been in our country for 72 years; a school which has gained national and international recognition, thanks to the effort of its teachers, senior staff and lay leaders, who knew how to consolidate the academic excellence", said Adrián Moscovich, Executive Director of ORT Argentina, to the 1st-year students.
"Joy is that intense, ostensible happiness that appears in the faces of parents when they know that their kids are ok, in the smile of grandparents when they are close to their grandchildren, and at the beginning of this school year at ORT, which is a milestone to us all. The academic life, as we conceive it in ORT, should be something that provokes passion and enthusiasm. We want every educational act to be intense and meaningful”, said the School Principal Viviana Jasid.
"The beginning of each school year leads us back to an act of creation: we will all give life to the place we will share to discover scientific theories, to dive into the digital world, to analyze the events that surround us, to read stories, to experience the world of nature; to sum up, a space in which the goals and challenges we have as a school are renewed, and where children will introduce theirs. Here we will establish bonds which will enable us to progress, to get training and to build the future", said –in turn- the School Principal Diana Grimbe.
