Commemoration on the National Day of Memory

Last Monday 31st, March 2008, there was a commemoration ceremony on the National Day of Memory. Tatiana Sfiligoy, the first granddaughter found by Abuelas de Plaza de Mayo and part of H.I.J.O.S. Association (composed of children of the ‘disappeared’), visited Almagro campus. The ceremony was organized by students and teachers of the Musical Production track: there was a play, which triggered Tatiana’s talk and then a debate. To close the activity, a group of students interpreted a song on the issue.

Recording Stories for Popular Libraries

On November 5th, the actor Juan Palomino and two members of popular libraries from the Secretariat of Culture (Government of the City of Buenos Aires) visited us to record a new story, which will be edited with the help of students from the Musical Production track. The chosen short stories cover issues related to different regions of the country and include the following authors: Liliana Bodoc, Jorge Luis Borges, Abelardo Castillo, Filisberto Hernández, Juan José Hernández, Enrique Anderson Imbert, Cristian Aliaga, Juan José Saer, Antonio Di Benedetto, José Edmundo Paz Soldán, Augusto Roa Bastos, Roberto Bolaño, Horacio Quiroga, Cesar Vallejo and Juan Carlos Onetti. The name of the record will probably be “El lugar en el que yo me sé" (i.e. the place where I know myself), taken from César Vallejo’s story, which Palomino read. In the last weeks, other people, who participated in the workshops on popular narration, also came to participate in the recordings.

ORTArt 2007

On October 26th, the 11th Art Festival -“ORTArt”- was carried out at Almagro campus. A lot of students were able to make exhibitions or enjoy the many different artistic expressions there were, such as music, dance, theatre, drawing, painting, and literature (among others). As usual, the Musical Production track, and its students of course, organized the event. We invite you to visit the blog: blog del encuentro.
